The Republic of Equatorial Guinea received key backing for the non-permanent seat on the United Nations (UN) Security Council from Germany, Morocco, and the Latin America bloc.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Agapito Mba Mokuy, met with the German Ambassador the Equatorial Guinea to discuss their support of Equatorial Guinea to the Security Council, and highlighted bilateral interests including the reform of the Security Council to reflect the current composition of the world.
The Kingdom of Morocco expressed unconditional support for Equatorial Guinea as well, in a diplomatic note issued by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to the Equatorial Guinea Embassy in Rabat.
