The Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, leads the security and police sectors for the country and has advocated for robust training and education in order to lead the region. Recently, Equatorial Guinea opened communications with Cameroon to cooperate on issues regarding security and police training.
The open communications were a result of a previously signed Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon in regards to the Police Force of Equatorial Guinea and the Cameroon Police Schools and Instruction Centres.
The agreement will maintain peace, security, and the welfare of the two countries and the larger Central African region.
The Vice President has stressed the importance of strong values and strong training in regards to the police and military of Equatorial Guinea.
The Vice President recently oversaw the graduation of several hundred Equatorial Guineans from the Military Training Centre of Musola.
As head of defense and state security, the Vice Presidentexercises oversight and policy guidance over the nation’s defense and military forces, police institutions, and immigration, while ministers of defense and national security manage the functions of their ministries. The Ministry of Defense encompasses the country’s ground, air and naval forces. The Ministry of National Security encompasses police forces and control of immigration and borders.
