The Republic of Equatorial Guinea is set to explore new energy development opportunities and potential partnerships at the upcoming Africa Oil & Power (AOP) 2017 Conference.
Equatorial Guinea is a main sponsor of AOP 2017, which will host international energy firms focused on the future of energy investments and policies in Africa.
The Equatorial Guinea Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons has prioritized gas and oil exploration and production with the development of the Fortuna FLNG project, set to transform Equatorial Guinea’s energy offerings and establish the country as a regional energy hub.
Fortuna FLNG will be Africa’s first deepwater FLNG project.
In addition, the Equatorial Guinea Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons recently announced a second FLNG project to further expand the country’s energy opportunities.
Equatorial Guinea was recently approvedto join the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), making it the 14th member and sixth from the continent of Africa.
AOP 2017 will be held in Cape Town, South Africa.
