The Republic of Equatorial Guinea participated in the Conference on the Rights of Disabled People at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York.
The Equatorial Guinea delegation from the Ministry for Social Affairs and Gender Equality was led by the Director General for Assistance for the Elderly.
The Conference focused on the compliance of government action in support of people with a disability as well as what humanitarian work can be done in order to achieve full compliance.
The delegations provided reports on progress made and highlighted the importance of countering the effects of discrimination in order to achieve sustainable development goals.
The Conference was attended by high-level delegations from signatory countries of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
