The Republic of Equatorial Guinea has been active at the 47thsession of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), which is being held in Mexico 19 to 21 June.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Agapito Mba Mokuy, and the Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to the United States of America, Miguel Ntutumu Evuna Andeme, attended the Assembly and expressed their appreciation for the support of Latin America in the voting for the United Nations (UN) Security Council.
Equatorial Guinea was recently welcomed as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Equatorial Guinea, a permanent observer of the OAS, declared its support of the effort to promote dialogue between nations as integral to economic development.
Equatorial Guinea also highlighted its commitment to continue working with the OAS countries to achieve the common objectives outlined during the African, Caribbean, and Pacific Group of States (ACP) and the Africa-South America (ASA) summits held in Sipopo, Equatorial Guinea in 2012 and 2013.
Equatorial Guinea expressed its pride of being part of the Hispanic family and heritage, and that cooperation with OAS is a top priority for the government.
