The Republic of Equatorial Guinea participated in and represented Africa at the World Peace and Human Rights Forum in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.
The Equatorial Guinea delegation, led by the Third Vice Prime Minister of Government, charged with Human Rights, Alfonso Nsue Mokuy, and the Director General for Human Rights, was received by the Chancellor Miguel Vargas.
Equatorial Guinea and high-level officials from the government of the Dominican Republic discussed strengthening ties in regards to human rights, peace and stability, as well as areas of mutual cooperation including agriculture.
Equatorial Guinea also discussed strengthening mechanism to consolidate world peace in conflict areas such as Africa, Syria, the Middle East, Haiti, and other areas suffering from famine and natural disasters.
Equatorial Guinea also presented resolutions and institutional declarations from the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE) regarding the legal challenges the country is subject to regarding the ongoing court case brought forth by the Republic of France.
Equatorial Guinea has argued that any disagreement between France and Equatorial Guinea should be discussed through the proper diplomatic channels, rather than criminal court.
