The Republic of Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to the United States of America (US), Miguel Ntutumu Evuna Andeme, strengthened bilateral ties with the US during an important meeting with the Department of State Deputy Secretary of State for African Affairs, Donald Yukio Yamamoto.
The Ambassador discussed areas of mutual cooperation between Equatorial Guinea and the US, including efforts in the United Nations Security Council, security concerns impacting the sub region, and cooperation with the Department of State on reporting human trafficking issues.
The Ambassador invited the Deputy Secretary of State to the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of Equatorial Guinea on 12 October.
The Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to the US has been actively strengthening ties with his various counterparts. He recently met with the White House Director for African Affairs, the US Department of Commerce, high-level officials at the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), and other high-level officials at the US Department of State.
Equatorial Guinea is active at the UN and, as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, has called for a peaceful resolution to the Yemen conflict, mechanisms for peace in the Middle East, and protection of vital infrastructures against terrorist attacks, among many other issues.
