The Republic of Equatorial Guinea, through its Minister for Civil Aviation, Leandro Mico Angüé, expanded air travel with the reduction of the cost of airline tickets.

The Ministry is reviewing the current value added tax on international tickets with the aim of reducing the tax to increase air travel for all Equatoguineans and further boost the economy.

Equatorial Guinea has continually invested in its aviation and transportation sectors. The Government has improved the national aviation services through personnel training through international and sub-regional forums, hosting the third African Summit on Air Safety and Navigation, and active participation before the ICAO in Montreal, Canada.

The Government has also extensively trained pilots, air traffic controllers, mechanics, technicians, and engineers, in addition to reforming the General Law on Civil Aviation, creating the Accident Investigation Commission, and implementing a national program for aviation operation security.
