Equatorial Guinea Hosts Central Africa Football Matches

The Republic of Equatorial Guinea hosted the under-17 qualifies of the Union of Football Federations of Central Africa (UNIFFAC) matches at the country’s world-class athletic facilities in Malabo.

The President of the African Football Confederation (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad, recently met with the Equatorial Guinea Prime Minister, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, to discuss the success of the tournament, as well as the upcoming African Cup of Nations in 2019.

The CAF President highlighted the development of the Equatorial Guinean Federation of Soccer (FEGUIFUT), among Equatorial Guinea’s other athletic achievements.

Equatorial Guinea has hosted international sporting events in the past, including the Africa Cup of Nations at the newly renovated soccer stadium in Bata and the 2016 FEGUIFUT Cup. The events showcased Equatorial Guinea’s world-class sporting facilities and the increasing importance of soccer and athletics in the country.
