The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has been active at the third China-Africa Economic Forum in Beijing.
The Forum gathers African leaders and C-suite level executives from over 600 companies and research institutions to share information and discuss future cooperation.
Earlier in the week, the President was received by the People’s Republic of China President Xi Jinping, and was praised for his leadership of Equatorial Guinea.
Equatorial Guinea and China are expected to further strengthen ties with the signing of cooperation agreements in the sectors of industry, agriculture, education, tourism, and culture, among many others.
Equatorial Guinea and China enjoy a strong relationship, as they recently agreed to establish a free trade zone between the two countries to promote the freedom and ease of trade and investment for the mutual gain of both countries.
Cooperation between Africa and China has strengthened over the last forty years. In regards to commercial investment, as China invests more than 110 billion in the continent.
China has opened more than 80 secondary schools and China and Africa have hosted more than 100 events and 200 projects in regards to sociocultural development.
In regards to security, Africa works in partnership with China with more than two thousand blue helmets in five United Nations (UN) operations for peace-keeping on the continent.
