On Monday, October 29, Prime Minister Francisco Pascual Obama Asue met the People's Republic of China’s Ambassador Chen Guoyou. During the discussions, the two focused on issues such as strengthening of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese diplomat congratulated the Government for the successful celebration of October 12, and for the hospitality shown to the Vice President of the Permanent Committee of the Chinese People's Assembly, Shang Chunxiang, during his stay in Malabo.
Prime Minister Obama Asue stated that Government wishes that relations between the People's Republic of China and Equatorial Guinea were further strengthened, while he also welcomed China’s gesture of sending a senior delegation to attend the 50th Anniversary of national Independence, in a faithful reflection of the ties of friendship that unite the two countries and its people.
The Prime Minister and the Chinese Ambassador also discussed the Third Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum held in September, and where Equatorial Guinea was represented by the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
