Equatorial Guinea Attends Africa-France Summit, Calls for Inclusive Development and Job Creation

The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Obiang called for more inclusive economic development and job creation, as well as outlined several challenges and threats posed to the peace of the African continent at the XXVII Africa-France Summit for Partnership, Peace, and Emergency last week.

The role of renewable energies was also highlighted to fast-track development, as well as social and environmental responsibility for development aid, and the importance of the cultural and creative sectors.

The summit was hosted by the President of Mali, HE Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, and the President of the Republic of France, SE Francois Hollande.

The Summit was attended by twenty delegations from African countries and France, as well as international organizations such as the African Union, the European Union, the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, and the International Organization of la Francophonie.

The Summit included side events such as forums on gender and development, youth, and economics.

The Presidential delegation included the Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, the Governor of Bioko Norte, Leon Elo Ondo, the Mayor of Malabo, María Coloma Edjang Mbengono, the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Jerónimo Osa Osa Ecoro, as well as other deputy minister and secretaries of state.
