The Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, in charge of National Defense and State Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, highlighted the economic and social development growth rates taking place in the country at the XXX Ordinary Session of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

Equatorial Guinea joined the leaders and high-level officials of African nations to review strategic implementation decisions from the past year’s AU Summit. They also discussed the close relationship the AU enjoys with the United Nations in the fight against terrorism in Africa.

The heads of state also delivered the continental scientific awards to African scientists for groundbreaking work in their respective fields.

The Vice President also visited the Embassy of Equatorial Guinea in Ethiopia and met with Equatorial Guinean students who live in the country.
