The Republic of Equatorial Guinea has prioritized education in line with the Sustainable Development Goals under the Horizon 2020 Program, as three young Equatorial Guinean doctors graduated from the Dr. Salvador Allende Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM).

Equatorial Guinea’s focus on education is a cornerstone of the Horizon 2020 sustainable development, in addition to economic diversity in regards to transportation, infrastructure, farming, and fisheries.

The Equatorial Guinean students received their degrees in Community Medicine, one of which was among only eighteen graduates out of the class of 225 to obtain recognition of Magna Cum Laude.

The ELAM graduating class included students from all over the world, including the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.

ELAM was founded in 2006 by the late President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías.
