The Republic of Equatorial Guinea, through its Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the United Nations, Anatolio Ndong Mba, called for dialogue to resolve the Yemen conflict at the United Nations (UN) Security Council.

The draft resolution set to implement mechanisms for peace in Yemen was vetoed by the Russian Federation in the UN Security Council this week.

Great Britain, among others, expressed regret at the outcome of the vote and offered several recommendations for the parties involved in the conflict to continue negotiations.

Equatorial Guinea is active at the UN and, as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, has called for a resolution to the crisis in Syria, mechanisms for peace in the Middle East, and protection of vital infrastructures against terrorist attacks.

Equatorial Guinea is committed to peaceful and sustainable development in the world.
