The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, strengthened bilateral relations with the Republic of Cameroon this week during a meeting with the Ambassador from the West African country.
The President highlighted the strong and friendly history between Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon as neighbors.
The President also highlighted areas of mutual interest between the two countries, including trade, investment, and energy.
Equatorial Guinea is committed to the promotion of Africa energy, and has developed new investment and exchange partnerships with Cameroon. In 2017, Equatorial Guinea further strengthened its energy sector with the announcement of an agreement to jointly develop offshore gas fields with Cameroon.
Equatorial Guinea enjoys strong bilateral relations with Cameroon. The two countries are members of various sub-regional organizations, including the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC) and the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), among many others.
