Equatorial Guinea Vice President Hosts Charity Dinner for Red Cross

The Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Charged with Defense and State Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, hosted a charity dinner for the country’s Red Cross to raise funds to support the important work of the organization in Equatorial Guinea.

The dinner was attended by high-level Government officials, civil society, diplomatic delegations, and members of international institutions.

The Vice President is dedicated to the support of the Red Cross, and has highlighted the importance of the organization in Equatorial Guinea and Africa.

Equatorial Guinea is committed to sustainable development under the country’s Horizon 2020 program. In line with the Goals, Equatorial Guinea has made great strides over the years, including major reductions in the risk of maternal and infant mortality; free health service and drugs for youth and the elderly; the development of agriculture and hydrocarbons to create more jobs; the implementation of progressive gender equality policies; and electricity and sanitation for all citizens.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an international non-profit that supports humanitarian efforts with approximately 97 million volunteers, members, and staff all over the world.


The Red Cross provides aid during disaster situations, supports the elderly, displaced persons, migrants, persons with disabilities, and refugees.
