The Republic of Equatorial Guinea announced today its participation in the XXI General Assembly of the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) to cover matters regarding health in the African continent. The OAFLA event is being held around the 73rdsession of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
“Our participation with the African First Ladies at OAFLA is a testament of Equatorial Guinea’s committment in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the African continent,” said Ambassador Anatolio Ndong Mba, Permanent Representative of Equatorial Guinea to the United Nations. “We are proud to join such a powerful campaign that is so critical as we seek to prevent children contracting HIV, and prevent deaths related to the illness, while maintaining the health of their mothers.”
The Equatorial Guinea delegation is headed by Dr. Justino Obama Nve on behalf of First Lady Constancia Mangue de Obiang. The delegation has been attending a series of senior level meetings since September 24 and is expected to continue for at least the following four days.
