The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, urged inclusive dialogue to resolve international conflicts at the opening of the 7thDiplomatic Conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Malabo.
The President highlighted that global diplomacy is fluid and all Equatoguinean diplomats must be dynamic in order to respond appropriately to all situations.
The President also stressed that it is necessary for all diplomats to maintain Equatorial Guinea’s diplomatic foundations of respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in internal affairs, and equal treatment of all countries.
President Nguema highlighted the values of Equatorial Guinea as a peaceful country, one that speaks out against arms trafficking, terrorism, mercenaries, crime, and any interference against the Charter of the United Nations (UN). The vision of Equatorial Guinea is to include all African countries in commercial exchange via the African Union (AU).
The President recently returned from the 73rdSession of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), where he stressed preventive diplomacy as means to secure international peace and security.
President Nguema at the UNGA also attended the high-level session of the UN Security Council regarding North Korea, Iran, Syria, and Yemen, and engaged in a busy series of meetings on the margins with Ministers of Foreign Affairs and heads of state from a number of countries.
