Equatorial Guinea President Highlights Education Advancements with UNESCO

The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, highlighted the country’s recent educational advancements, including the construction of the Afro-American University in Djibloho, with the special representative from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The President outlined his vision for the educational sector of Equatorial Guinea, including how the soon-to-be operational University will be an important institution for all young Equatoguineans and the larger African continent. The two also discussed how the University can create partnerships with like international universities to further strengthen its educational offerings.

Equatorial Guinea has a long history of promoting and investing in education, including the achievement of key milestones in literacy, improvement of education for all Equatoguineans by all international standards, as well as the recent recognition by the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea of the UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prizes for Research in Life Sciences. 

Equatorial Guinea is set to open the Afro-American University of Oyala, which will include an information technology (IT) and communications technology training center, among other amenities.
