From October 22 to 25, Equatorial Guinea’s National Bank (BANGE) is attending the 40th SIBOS event, which this year takes place in Sydney, Australia, with a senior delegation led by the Deputy Director General, Pedro Abeso Obiang Eyang.
Aiming to set up and consolidate relations with international financial institutions, BANGE is attending the important annual event of conferences and exhibitions, organized by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) for the financial industry, for the second year running.
Under the motto “Enabling digital economy”, the SIBOS 2018 conference discusses four main themes. The topics cover Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, which also means boosting innovation in services and the redefining business models; the New Paradigms and Technologies for sharing information in the fight against financial crimes; Facing the Growing Challenge of Cybersecurity in the Digital Economy; and Adapting to the Evolution of Geopolitical and Regulatory Priorities.
SIBOS is being held in Sydney for the third time now, following successful events held in 1997 and 2006. According to the organizers, the city of Sydney combines energy, innovation and infrastructure – which makes it an ideal location for the event.
