On Thursday, October 25, a senior delegation from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, led by Defense Minister Leandro Bacale Nkogo, attended the opening of the VIII Xiangshan Forum for International Security and Cooperation in the Asia Pacific Region, held in Beijing, China. The forum takes place every two years, with its first edition beginning in 2006.
This year's theme of the Forum is “building a new type of security through equality, mutual trust, and win-win cooperation”. During the Forum’s sessions, officials from various countries and experts from international organizations will deal with issues such as global security governance, terrorist threats and counter-measures, cooperation in maritime security and peacekeeping, security in northeast Asia, questions relating to the Middle East, and artificial intelligence.
After attending the opening, Defense Minister Leandro Bacale Nkogo had a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wei Fenghe, in which the two officials exchanged views on the cooperation between the two countries, and signed an agreement as well.
In the scope of his activities, the Defense Minister also visited the company Norinco, where he was welcomed by its president, Li Wen Jie. The two spoke about cooperation between the company and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
