President Hosts Swearing-in Ceremony for Newly Appointed Judicial Personnel

On Friday, November 2, a swearing-in ceremony for the recently appointed judicial personnel took place before the President of the Republic, Head of State and Government, His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, at the People's Palace in Malabo.

The Magistrates from the Supreme Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court and the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic swore in one by one, while the attorneys, magistrates and presidents of the provincial courts, judges, director generals of offices and protocol, together with the secretaries of all bodies of Judicial Power, raised their hands collectively before the first magistrate of the nation.

The act took place in the presence of the presidents of constitutional bodies, among whom were David Nguema Obiang Eyang, President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Anatolio Nzang, Attorney General of the Republic, and Fermín Nguema Esono, President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, Charged with the Administration, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, and other members of the Government and advisers to the head of State's Office.

In his reflections, the President of the Republic appealed to the values of professional ethics and responsibility in the administration of justice throughout the country. He also denounced the practice of corruption and illegal enrichment, and pointed out that the people had lost their trust in justice.

On his part, the President of the Senior Council of Judicial Power invited the auditorium to reflect together on the problem, in order to find a speedy solution.
