Equatorial Guinea President Strengthens Pan-African Relations During State Visit, Signs Cooperation Agreements with Mozambique

The Republic of Equatorial Guinea strengthened African relations and signed a series of cooperation agreements with Mozambique during a recent state visit to the country by the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

President Obiang met with the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, and discussed issues in the African and international political arena, and reviewed in detail economic developments.

The Equatorial Guinea Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Agapito Mokuy, and Mozambique Foreign Minister, Oldemiro Baloi, signed the series of agreements, which focused on several economic areas, including petroleum and hydrocarbons.

Mokuy stressed the importance of the agreements to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, specifically in relation to the economy.


The General Cooperation Agreement will set up a Joint Commission, and a Memorandum of Understanding includes consultations on political matters.
