The Republic of Equatorial Guinea Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, and Environment held a seminar on planning and updating the country’s sustainable energy project with a focus on renewables.
The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has highlighted the importance of renewable energies as key to more inclusive economic development and job creation.
The President has also called for increased social and environmental responsibility for development aid, and the importance of the cultural and creative sectors.
The project is in line with Equatorial Guinea’s commitment to the Paris Agreement in the fight against climate change, including the facilitation of renewable energy projects and technology.
The project is being financed by the Government of Equatorial Guinea, the Global Environment Fund (GEF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
