The Republic of Equatorial Guinea has launched the National Malaria Control Program and donated more than 175,000 mosquito nets across the island of Bioko, among other prevention supplies.

The Program also began the 25h round of house spraying in Malabo, aided by the support of 150 volunteers.

Equatorial Guinea is focused on eliminating Malaria in the country, as well as informing its citizens of the negative effects of the disease.

The Minister of Health and Welfare, along with the Ministers of Education and Information, as well as representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, launched the Program.

In 2017, Equatorial Guinea achieved high levels of protection against Malaria in clinical trials of a new vaccine. Equatorial Guinea is one of several African countries to hold clinical trials, including Tanzania, Kenya, Mali, and Burkina Faso, as well as Germany and the U.S.
