The Republic of Equatorial Guinea Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons, HE Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, this week discussed African investment with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), HE Suhail Al Mazroui, and further strengthened bilateral relations with the Gulf state.
The Ministers discussed the important role of Equatorial Guinea and other African nations in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and investment opportunities for the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries in Equatorial Guinea.
Equatorial Guinea and the UAE enjoy strong bilateral relations and constantly collaborate on a broad range of mutual interests, including on trade and investment. Equatorial Guinea hosted the IV Africa-Arab World Summit in 2016 at the Sipopo Conference Center in Malabo.
During the Summit, the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, HE Agapito Mba Mokuy, called for continued close cooperation between African and Arab countries.
